We are permanently surrounded by unrealistic and fictive images, distributed by today’s media. These images reinforce ideals of beauty, health gender roles as well as living standards, which are difficult or almost impossible to attain. These unrealistic and artificial images of humans as well as objects, which we are so desperate to obtain, cause us to perceive ordinary/common/normal persons or objects as imperfect or deficient. Particularly younger generations are rather easily influenced by the images distributed by the media; they have even more difficulties in distinguishing between reality and fiction.
The reality box includes tools that will help this generation to understand and be more attentive of this manipulation.
